Andrea King and this movie are at the top of our most wanted cowgirl
gunslinger list. This is one cowgirl gunslinger who has, so far, evaded
capture. We can't find this movie. It's like the carnival that left town
leaving only wagon tracks and popcorn sacks. We've found a press
book, some posters, and the high contrast movie trailer - but the actual
movie, with Andrea King as a cowgirl gunslinger known as the Outlaw
Queen, has "got clean away!" The reviews were bad, and we have read
reports that it was an embarrassment to Andrea King who preferred
not to discuss it. She agreed to do the movie as a favor to her friends
Betty Grable and her husband, Harry James. It seems that the famed
trumpet master had always wanted to do a western and Betty had other
commitments (or maybe she had read the script).   This movie may not
be in the same league as Betty's big budget Technicolor 1949 western
comedy, The Beautiful Blonde From Bashful Bend, but Andrea does wear
a more complete outlaw cowgirl gunslinger outfit. No matter how bad it
is, every serious cowgirl gunslinger collector should want to see it. To

One final note: Outlaw Queen surely has to be the only straight cowgirl
gunslinger movie where a King plays a Queen!
