Jessi's Girls
(1975)
Sondra Currie
Regina Carroll
Jennifer Bishop
Elen Stern
Like all Al Adamson productions, this is one of the worst films of all
time, but it does have some great cowgirls and some great cowgirl
shooting scenes.
Sondra Currie stars as Jessi, who rides out for
revenge after she is ravaged by the same gang of outlaws who killed
her husband.  Once veteran western star
Rod Cameron teaches her
how to shoot, she is assisted by three gals who were on their way to
prison before she set them free.  There is also one extended catfight.
And now for a few words about Rod Cameron (1910 - 1983) who
starred in the 40's serial that was the inspiration for Indiana Jones.
His numerous western credits include
Belle Starr's Daughter, Dakota
Lil,
and Frontier Gal, but the most striking thing about Cameron may
be the fact that in the late 1950's he divorced his wife and married her
mother.  Then Cameron and his ex-mother-in-law (who was actually
closer to his age) proceeded to raise his child and her grandchild.
Now here are some interesting facts about producer-director Al
Adamson
.  He was married to Regina Carrol for 20 years prior to
her death from cancer in 1992.  Carrol starred in many of his
movies including
Blazing Stewardesses (1975), which was about
the adventures of stewardesses on a dude ranch.  In 1995 Adamson
was murdered by a handyman who was installing a hot tub at his
residence near Indio, California.  His brother reported him missing,
but it was about 5 weeks before his body was discovered under the
floor of the hot tub, which had been sealed with concrete.  He was
66 years old.
