Dale Evans
Roy Rogers Show began production. Pat Brady, who would portray
the comical sidekick in that successful series, fills that same role
here. Much of Brady's comedy was associated with his mode of
transportation. In this pilot he rides a mule that is often taking
him around in circles, but in the Roy Rogers Show he switched to a
jeep named Nellie Belle that also seemed to have a mind of it's own.
Dale Evens, of course, would also star in the Roy Rogers Show, but
it would have been nice if this pilot had been picked up and she
could have headlined her own show. Maybe Roy could have put in
a few guest appearances.
